Walter Named Acting SEC Chair
January 22, 2009
A quick update to one yesterday’s entry on Cox’s resignation: Elisse Walter was named acting SEC “chairman,” according to the SEC site.
Walter was appointed to the SEC by former President Bush last July. You can click on Walter’s name for a complete biography of her.
(Thanks again to FEI’s Edith Orenstein, who keeps me in the loop on so many regulatory maneuvers.)
I don’t see a press release on the appointment, nor does the new White House yet list information about when confirmation hearings are scheduled for President Obama’s nomination for SEC chair, Mary Schapiro).
