Here's the bad news: fraud happens everywhere. The media tend to focus on public corporations, but it also crops up in not-for-profits and the academic world. Fraud Magazine recently documented cases of federal grant fraud across academia, supporting the notion that organizations of all type need to take a closer look at their control processes.
