"Three of the top five unhappiest states -- New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey -- have the highest state-local tax burdens," Wall Street Journal editor Allysia Finley pointed out in a recent editorial. Does that mean you should hit the road in search of lower taxes? Before you pack your bags, take a look at Denmark -- despite having some of the highest taxes in the world, the Danes consistently have the highest happiness level.
