BizTaxBuzz: Sarkozy Fights Global Warming with Taxes

French president Nicolas Sarkozy is going after global warming through higher taxes. First he created a domestic fuel tax and now Sarkozy is working with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on an E.U.-wide carbon tax, which is sure to cause a stir at the upcoming U.N. Climate Change Conference.
